Why do all these highly motivated people, eager to become better drop out before the month is over? One of the reasons is I believe is the power of positive momentum or rather the lack of it. 'Resolutioners', in my experience, only annoy people when they turn up for the sake of turning up, sitting on equipment for 30 minutes before they get up and leave, but thats not exclusive to people who start in January. Well, if you’re like me and you want to get sht done, then you best steer clear of these following gym New Year’s Resolution-ers: 1) The Babysitters These individuals forgot to read the gym handbook. I feel joy for the extra space it provides me and my clients, no more cringing over another awfull squat attempt. As long as youre training, no one cares how much youre lifting or how experienced you look. OMG, that girl on the elliptical over there is totally watching The Bachelor. Hopes and dreams shattered, well-intended effort put into the ground. This elliptical looks nice and it's in the corner away from people, so that's a plus. ![]() ![]() Every second day of the new year, the gym fills with highly motivated individuals, but as January is nearing its end, I see the gym becoming quieter and quieter. ![]()
